WHERE IT HURTS

Image
WHERE IT HURTS She has her faith in you, She has her trust in you, For you, she'd die a million times, For you, she'd make a million rhymes. All her wealth all her strength, She'd give you all without a doubt, But no one cares what she does, So you hit her where it hurts. She buries it all, endures it all, She falls apart, she breaks in whole, She tries to climb, you pull her down, She drops a tear and yes, you won! To herself, she keeps it all, Hides her pain and smiles to all, And no one cares how she feels, So you hit her where it hurts. "I believe in you" you say, " believe in us" And for believing in you she'd pay, because it's all just a talk. "We are one" you say, She'd barely see your point, Since she'd give and give, but you 'll hit her where it hurts.

Kamoyo

The heart of a weakling     Kamoyo   Hey guyysss! As promised, today I come to you with a poem written in swahili as per so many of you guys' requests. I know the language hits home but I lowkey cringed while writing this because somehow everything sounds a lot deeper in Swahili. That's our language y'all and I have to say, I really am proud of it.  Personally, I think Swahili is quite romantic *insert smiley face*, am I wrong?  Now, before some of you come at me calling me delusional and stuff I'd recommend you start listening to more meaningful swahili songs (most of them are old by the way) OR reading some poems written in the language. Trust me, this is something you won't regret. If interested in my 'recommendations' drop a comment below, email me, text or reach out to my insta page. Either way,  I'm not that hard to find.

The Melodramatic life of Bvsti

"The Bvsti in me speaks to the Bvsti in you" Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog. Today is another good day for an #AfricanTuesday  poem! I hope you are as excited as I am! First things first, I apologise that this poem took way too long to be posted. A lot of things have been happening and I had to keep up with the busy schedule of my partner. Remember the partner, right? If not, don’t worry. I’ll remind you. From the last #AfricanTuesday poem titled  Binti from Abroad , I had promised to feature an amazing Nigerian writer on my blog. Could you guess who this person is? No? I thought so! He is none other than Kachikalum Asiegbunam. He is a passionate writer whom I admire. I am not even kidding you. His talent can awaken a dead soul and enlighten a darkened heart. Therefore, featuring him in today’s post is such an honour. Enough praises for one person. Let’s get down to Today’s post.  Today’s #AfricanTuesday poem is titled  The Melodramatic life of Bvsti.

COLOURS OF DEPRESSION

"So someone free me from the cage inside my mind!" Hello everyone! Today is another day to read a well written poem. I mean, when is it ever not?lol!  On today's episode of who hurt who -not that I have any episodes like this on my page but okay- we have a poem titled COLOURS OF DEPRESSION.  Jokes aside, I  dedicate today's post to everyone fighting demons in their heads. What demons? Nice question.  Most of us go through a lot of tough  times in our lives. Sometimes, we feel like everything is too heavy for us to bare. We overthink about almost everything. Sometimes we can't take the next step without wondering whether or not you are good enough for that step. Hey there, I see you.  I see your struggles and your pain. I want you to know that you are not alone. All your anxiety and insecurities, I see it all. I don't know if you'll believe me when I tell you that it gets better but it does. Although it may not feel that way but it won'

BINTI FROM ABROAD

Image
"She says Kitula is so barbaric, she goes by the name of Angel" -Binti from Abroad Welcome back to my  blog everybody. As an African writer, I've decided to try something new. I have started a hashtag #AfricanTuesdays where I'll be posting an African-themed poem every Tuesday. So welcome to my first #AfricanTuesdays ever. What do I expect to gain out of this? Well, I'm glad you asked. Being from Tanzania and all, I haven't been able to get the African feeling in most of the poems out there. Don't get me wrong, I know a couple African writers who strive to add that African feel in their poems. Well, I wanted to be one of those. I want to create a space where Africans can read something they can relate to not only emotionally but also culturally.  I mean think about it, Africa to the world. Okay, stop fantasizing now and let's get on with the poem. Today's #AfricanTuesdays Poem is titled BINTI FROM ABROAD. For some reason binti happens

Soft Spot

Image
Welcome back to my blog. If it's your first time here don't worry, this is also my first time being a little serious with it. Therefore, my guess is that you haven't missed much. Today's poem is titled Soft Spot. Having a soft spot for something means having a strong afffection or liking towards that thing. This can make you do things you wouldn't normally do. We all have a soft spot for something anyway, right? Or  even someone. Do you think that having a soft spot for something is a weakness or is it a strength? I'm curious, do you have a soft spot for someone? Or something?  I hope you'll enjoy my poem                                                            SOFT SPOT           It's a soft spot for a bleeding soul Did I tell you about my secret? About the desires in my heart? Was I honest or did i cheat? Cause there are plenty of whom I've hurt. Did I tell you i'm cold yet hot? Or that I'd burn and break you without
